About me..hmm where to begin.

Well to sum it all up I will give you details of what I do for a living, since that pretty much summarizes who I am.

If you know me then you know I am a computer geek. It pretty much comprises my day to day life in one fashion or another. For about the last 10 years I have worked as a UNIX Systems / Network Administrator for a small ISP in Tucson, AZ. My day to day work consists of maintaining several server farms of FreeBSD and other *BSD servers, not to mention maintaining the network and other equipment required to run them. I have pretty much built our datacenter from the ground up single handedly. This includes full buildout of: Electric, racks, bandwidth provisioning, router configs, server builds..etc So I can comfortably say that my job is me.

When the network is behaving and servers are ticking along I end up writing code for our clients, since I am also the main programmer for my company. My programming work mostly consists of PHP coding these days, but I am well versed in quite a few other languages including: Perl, SH, C, C++, Javascript, TCL, TK. These few languages are just the one I tend to deal with on a week-by-week basis, I have however dabbled in quite a few others like Fortran, Pascal, Cobol, Assembly, SmallTalk, Java, Delphi, VB, but I don’t consider myself any where near versed in them.

Enough of the techno babel, in my spare time (which is not much) I try and spend time with the wife Steph, and our 2 dogs Sprout & EvaD. Sometimes you may also find me working on my ‘71 VW Westfalia, playing Yu-Gi-Oh with Steph or my nephew Zach, or watching some kind of cartoon or Anime. Some people find it strange that Steph and myself are so addicted to Anime (and Yu-Gi-Oh dueling for that matter) but it goes to figure since both of us have an art background. (in fact I never intended on my current profession, my education is in Advertising art and computer graphics..go figure) Other than that I am at a terminal typing away at something, just ask Steph, she’ll tell you alllll about it!
