Well I know I have not made a post recently, I have been rather busy lately. Anyway just pretend its not been so long and well be ok!

Just 11 more days till HP and the Goblet of Fire hits the theaters, we are planning on hitting the midnight show, should be exciting! I know Steph is all giddy about it. Funny really!

I finally had a chance to get back into dueling yugioh again, but I found my old deck to be well “rather lacking” with all of the new cards that hit the scene since I last built a deck. So I have been reading cards and planning out a new deck. Think I am going to go with a “Fiend/Spellcaster” hybrid, what do you think? All I know is Stephs deck is whomping my beatdown deck with no problems, which is not good (damm spell decks) especially since my old beatdown deck had a 90% win ratio back in the day.

WooHoo I get to deploy 2 more firewalls this week!! I actually like configuring firewalls, especially if they are m0n0wall based, its easy, is less brain wrecking, and it normally works out of the box. The strange thing about this set of FW’s that I do not normally do is one will be a VPN concentrator so to speak. It will not pass NAT or forward any packets, all it does is bridge networks with IPSec connections into my private management network for my servers. The long term need for this is so I can run automated backups from other trusted networks into my private raid server. It will of course be very locked down on IP access at the FW level. Ohh cant wait!

I spent the night in my chair last night thanks to “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” I am 3/4 of the way through it and last I remember I was staring at a page, next thing I know it was morning…go figure, Steph goes to bed early and I stay up to read and end up sleeping in the chair….now my back hurts damm it.

After last weeks episode of Full Metal I am kind left wondering what the little kid really is, from the reaction and talking of the characters he seems like he is a “created” person or humukulie (or however its spelled), I cant wait to find out!!

Having just redone my home network and added a new 8×8 VoIP setup I decided I would actually put m0n0wall’s traffic shaper to use.
As always the first thing I do is search the m0n0wall mailing list to see if anyone else has done this and shared thier rule sets. No luck there but I did run across this document:

Now I have used FreeBSD’s DUMMYNET settings alot on servers and such but never for VoIP prioritization, so this should be interesting to say the least. The document above does shed alot of light on queues and pipes tho..it should help.

I will share what I find works once I have the testing done.

hehe Stroker & Hoops Sack Flashers episode was on again last night, I was rolling for the whole 1/2 hr…too damm funny. Not to mention the last “American Dad” episode…hehe “you’ll go blind!” They are really getting braver in thier story lines lately.

Well thanks to Steph I have been finding myself staying up way to late reading the damm Harry Potter books, she is like obsessed with them or something. I can admit the books are pretty good, but I just cant find myself getting that wrapped up into them. Now I have to look forward to waiting in a long ass line for the premier of Goblet of Fire in November, should be interesting, I will be sure to bring my Yu-Gi-Oh cards to bust out some duels or something with Steph. (My Exodia deck is kicking right now)

We went and saw Tim Burtons new movie “The Corpse Bride” it wasnt bad, I would see it again, it just doesnt compare to Nightmare Before Christmas. Although this new one does have some good characters.

Man work has been busy lately, the damm wifi connection here is keeping me on my toes. I guess thats what I get for spanning 2 miles with D-Link equipment, it works but does strange things. Got some Proxim stuff on the way to replace them tho.

Finally I was able to squeeze some budget for some new UPS’s, installing them this week in the datacenter. Fun times, cant beat working with high power electricity!

Oh and what a wonderful weekend I had too, woke up on Sunday to find that some punk ass kid decided it would be “really cool” to break into my car and “try” to steal the radio. BUT THEY FAILED! in the process they broke out one of my door windows and fucked up my dash board with a screw driver to try and get the radio out, fucking amateurs, little do they know I could have pulled that radio out with using any tools, but they jabbed it sideways with a screwdriver and jammed it into the dash and go it stuck. when all they had to do was PULL IT. Now I have to deal with my insurance company and all of that crap..what a pain.

So long story short I am putting an alam in the car and pulling out some dusty old 802.11b cameras I have and securing the outside parking lot, cause if they are that dumb not to get the radio, they are dumb enough to come back and try again. and if they do I will get them. Fucking dipshit crackheads!

But the weekend was not all fsck’ed, Full Metal Alchemist was on Saturday night, and as before the new episodes have not let me down yet. Excellent story writing…tune in AdultSwim on saturdays to find out what I mean. Cant wait to see the end…quite gripping so far!

Finally they bring it back, NEXT week!! WhooHoo damm AS for not telling us sooner.

Ok as mainstream as it may seem I do watch Adult Swim. Not only have I always been a huge Futurama and Family Guy fan, but [AS] also plays some really good anime shows. Which brings me to my first point: Why in the hell do they stop a show right in the middle of the damn series! Now I can understand seasons…etc,etc but at least say that’s what your doing. Instead they put on stupid ass lame “cartoon” like “12oz Mouse”, which sucks in a most terrible way, and then don’t say jack about the ones they take off.

The reason I am on this rant is because 2 of my favorite shows on [AS] are now “off” for the season I guess.

First: Full Metal Alchemist: One of the best mainstream anime shows I have seen in a long while, yet they stop right in the middle of a pivitol moment in the series. It really ticked me off.

Second: Samurai Champloo: An excellent show from the creators of Cowboy-Beebop, which has really captured my interest. Now while they did stop it an non-pivotal section of the series, it still angers me, I always looked forward to new show, it made my Saturday nights.

All I can say now is at least they finished GITS: Stand Alone Complex, which was stunning!
